On Gossip
Gossip doesn't bring good things to either parties.
I hate it. I hate being judged by what i didn't do. And it became something that i did because people believed on the gossip and the gossiper.
The Bible tells us something about gossip and comparing to our experiences, everything is true.
Proverbs 11:13
A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.
Proverbs 16:28
A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.
Proverbs 18:8
The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts.
Proverbs 20:19
A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much.
WANT MORE?
1 Timothy 5:13
Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things they ought not to.
3 John 1:10
So if I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, gossiping maliciously about us. Not satisfied with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.
I dislike gossip with a fiery passion. It brings people down instead of building them up. If you have something to say about me, bring it to me, and not others. If you have a problem with someone else, bring it to them, don’t spread it around. Granted there is a big difference between gossip and seeking advice about someone or a situation.
Gossip can never be a good thing because it causes distress, it brings people down, it hurts, it tore down a person or even a family.
Stop!
Know God's purpose in your life. Do not say things against another person.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
